ABOUT

My passion is helping people achieve their goals.
To get the results you need to be consistent in your training...
Simple, right?
With a bit of motivation and a solid plan,
EVERYONE has a chance to succeed.

My BEGINNINGS WERE HUMBLE

My early sporting life back in New Zealand was spent playing hockey (on grass back then) and then crossing into rugby as most young New Zealand boys do. Moving around a lot meant that sport took a back seat for a little while until high school and I started playing hockey again and ended up coaching the junior school team in my later high school years.

When the pressures of university came into the fold I unfortunately gave up playing a team sport and moved more into an individual sport, in this case running. My foray into running was participating in the annual Auckland Round the Bays fun run. A nice little 8.4km flat course around the picturesque bays in Auckland. Back then I think my fastest time was about 60mins.

When I came to Australia in 2007 I continued running basically to try and keep the waist at bay with all the fantastic food I encountered on my work trips. I started out hitting the Bridge to Brisbane, eventually the Gold Coast Half Marathon and then finally my debut marathon which I ran in 3hr30mins in 2015. Having a good coach definitely allowed my to achieve what I set out to do.

Cycling came into the mix when my car broke down and before long running and cycling were regular fitness activities. Then I decided to give triathlon a go.

The Bribie Tri was my first attempt and despite the best preparation I had a terrible swim, average bike and even more average run. In spite of those challenges, I was hooked and decided that I needed to improve.

A couple of Noosa Triathlon's, some duathlons and quite a few more Bribie’s under my belt I decided to get involved in being a Technical Official for Triathlon QLD and then volunteer coach with my tri club. It was great to be able to give back to the sport in a volunteer capacity and also to learn more about the sport I dabbled in from time to time.

Since then I have progressed my coaching qualifications through my passion for learning and self development and I'm now a Triathlon Australia Accredited Development coach and an Accredited Athletics Australia Level 2 Intermediate Recreational Running coach as well.

I've had the benefit of being coached by a number of great coaches so I've taken all the best bits from them and applied them to my own coaching methodologies, combined with my experience I think you are in great hands.

My coaching style is one of collaboration with the athlete, let me know what you want to achieve, let’s figure out how to get you there and off we go. It’s about setting realistic goals with a little bit of stretch in there and then being consistent with your training.

To get the results you need to be consistent in your training, seems simple right? With a bit of motivation and a solid plan everyone has a chance to succeed.
